Description
Buh. How long does it take for me to start working on an idea?
A long time, apparently.
I was actually thinking of drawing Crane next (with Mei Ling?) but then someone thought of Shen and then this thing popped into my head. A young Shen sharing some dumplings with the old Captain of the Guard.
It's really interesting how Shen easily won over the wolves by just being nice to them. Says a lot about how wolves were apparently treated. But they /are/ treated poorly for a reason, which also shows when they slaughter an entire species with utter devotion, nor do they blink at the thought of destroying/conquering China. (I guess it's the usual question: Does outward pressure and expectation drive one to crime, or does the crime create the expectation? I could've worded that better, probably.)
Poor Boss Wolf was eventually disillusioned though, in the end. After all the hard work he put into helping his idol follow his dream, he found out that his idol has grown up somewhat, different from the child he once knew. He could reason away the genocide; "It's a way of protecting him." He could reason away the relentless conquer; "It's only fair to him." In the end, he couldn't reason away blatant disregard for his own troops.
As for the funky clothes Boss Wolf is wearing, I looked up some old Chinese armor stuff and decided one of them looked Captain of the Guard-y enough for me to just use it. It doesn't look too bad on him.
Also, old Chinese helmets are goofy-looking.
...God this thing sucks.
